The consultants, engineers and technicians at P3 are specialists in complex products and engineering challenges in the automotive, aviation, telecommunications and energy industries. They work for leading international enterprises in the field of management consultancy and engineering services. P3's strength lies in its unique global network. The intensive interaction as well as the thought and process transfer across industry boundaries represent the core values leading to the further development of the company.
The foundations for P3 were laid in 1995 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT). As part of a design competition, Thomas Prefi, Christoph Theis and Thomas Weingarten representing the IPT team sketched out an innovative quality management system for the Daimler-Benz company at that time. The three Ph.D. students won the competition the following year, and with Professor Tilo Pfeifer, mentor and head of IPT, they founded the P3 Group as a spin-off company of the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology.
Since that time, P3 has been constantly setting new standards in innovations and technology. In the meantime, P3 has grown into a group of companies which amalgamates 32 entrepreneurs with their companies. In 14 subsidiaries, at 33 locations in 10 different countries, today over 1,400 employees are at work on many different projects. They are all inquisitive spirits, creative and highly-trained experts, who go to work with a passion for their jobs.
