    What you'll do

  • Conduct/Organize/lead efforts to plan Greenfield or Brownfield facility development.
  • Plant layout including material, process flow, and visual management
  • Evaluate potential part construction techniques to assess feasibility during CAD creation.
  • Support development and design teams to ensure integration for designed components.
  • Analyze CAD models to assess and assure automation potential systems.
  • Provide design direction, best practices, and simple tools to aid engineering in material and process and parts selection.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to facility planning
  • Prepare documentation and write RFQ's for the automation suppliers
  • Assure minimum number of operations, process best practices, loading, and program investment targets are being followed
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow tooling/equip through completion, to entail the following: Concept, design, construction, certification, repeatability, and Engr Change incorporation
  • Manage, review and approve all suppliers;
  • Feasibility, process, and designs of automation design to meet best practices for material utilization and process capability
  • Maintain program timing and report significant deviations to management
  • Knowledge of equipment certifications to ensure they meet legal and company requirements
  • Support in the development of processes and procedures
  • Support cost reduction on process and product fundamental designs
  • Coach and develop the Engineers to help meet agreed objectives and deliver best practice results, added value, and continuous improvement

  • Who you are

    • Knowledge of automotive design and development process, system requirements, and general engineering best practices
    • Facility planning for greenfield or brownfield site
    • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
    • Experience in dealing and communicating with internal customers and suppliers
    • Masters in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 10 years proven experience in various processes
    • Lean/TPS Principles training and proven success
    • Six Sigma/Shahin Advanced Experience. Ideally able to train others
    • Value Stream Mapping of processes and experience converting into successful improvement actions
    • Ability and willingness to travel and to on-site build/launch locations
    • Strong skills with common workplace software (word processor, spreadsheet, database, etc.).
    • Understanding of curve and cad simulation software (Catia, Solid Works, or equivalent)
    • You are willing to travel
    • You are authorized to work in the US
