What you'll do


The P3 project manager based in the Shinjuku, Tokyo office will play an important role in building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships. The PM will be the customer point of contact and act as a consultant in the Android Automotive projects that P3 is working on in collaboration with its Japanese customers. The PM will need to answer client queries and identify new business opportunities while collaborating in existing projects. In this role, the PM will liaise with cross-functional internal teams based in Europe and will aim to enhance the overall customer experience. This position may require occasional travel in order to engage with P3 colleagues from Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical projects with Automotive customers, guiding Android Automotive solution planning and implementation.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding Android Automotive integration in emerging system architectures.
  • Develop tools and processes to streamline partner engagements and guarantee high product quality.
  • Collaborate with team members and client to build complex applications and research all needed technologies that enable customer to deliver high quality and innovative customer experiences.
  • Balance customer needs with technical constraints, develop innovative, cutting-edge solutions and act as a consultant to those you are working with.
  • Understand software and hardware specifications limitations for Android applications.


About the job
As a PM for an Android Automotive project, you will be responsible for the technical relationship with our Japanese clients and/or our product partners. You will have to engage with cross-functional teams specialized in Engineering and Product Management to leverage emerging technologies for our external clients/partners. From concept design and testing to data analysis and support, you will oversee the technical execution and milestones to be met for our automotive customer.

You will be able to balance business and partner needs with technical constraints, develop innovative, cutting-edge solutions and act as a partner and consultant to those you are working with. You will also be able to build tools and automate products, oversee the technical execution and business operations of our company, as well as develop product strategy and prioritize projects and resources.

Our P3 teams work closely with a global and diverse set of partners who use Android to build devices and services. In this role, you will drive teams by engaging across the industry to ensure our automotive partners can provide a high-quality customer experience. In this role you will be effectively facilitating cross-team communication and collaboration at all levels to ensure productive stakeholder engagement and delivery of milestones within timeline and according to established quality standards.


Who you are

Key Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: Be able to provide technical guidance on HMI, IVI systems, and Android Automotive projects.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects related to HMI, IVI systems, and Android Automotive, ensuring they meet customer expectations, quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
  • Customer Engagement: Be responsible for the efficient functioning of the company’s Tokyo office and bridging the communication gap between the company’s European offices and the Japan customers.
  • Planning and Execution: Develop and manage detailed project plans and ensure alignment with business goals and customer expectations.
  • Languages: Japanese native; English advanced.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Automotive or related field. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe 6, ITIL or other similar project management certifications.
  • Experience with automotive industry standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of system architecture or device bring-up of Android or other Linux-based platforms.
  • Experience managing multiple products and streams of work.
