Your Motivation
Why measure at all? Because clarity is the first step towards improvement!
Agile metrics are not an end in themselves – they help you as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach to make the invisible visible: Progress, quality, collaboration. In a complex VUCA world, you need concrete evidence instead of just a gut feeling – to enable teams to make good decisions on their own.
Learn how metrics really work – and how they move your team forward.
From choosing good metrics to dealing with objections: You will learn how to build an effective metrics practice with the P3 METRIKS model – step by step and sustainably. You will be given concrete examples such as Focus Factor, Pairing Index or Sprint Burndown – and develop new, meaningful metrics together with others.
Hands-on, collaborative, tried and tested.
Experience a seminar with lots of exercises, co-creative workshop formats and real dialogue. You will get an exclusive insight into the book ‘Agile Metrics’ by Sabine Graupner & Valentin Nowotny – and a solid foundation to dive into technical or scaled metrics worlds if required.
General Learning Objectives
- Why measure anything at all? What are my advantages when I introduce agile metrics as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach?
- Managing complexity in the VUCA world: Agile metrics make things concrete and make the ‘gut feeling’ of everyone involved transparent
- Introduction to agile metrics: What makes a good metric – and what doesn’t? How an abstract formula promotes clarity and a common understanding! Categories in the metrics universe: product, flow, quality, team & processes.
- Why metrics often fail: classic misconceptions and how to avoid them: Dealing productively with objections, and using metrics for real improvement and sustainable team empowerment.
Main Focus
- Working with the ‘P3 METRIKS model’: Measure – Collect – Transparency – Reflect – Implement – Continuously monitor – Scale
- Dare to experiment with the ‘P3 Metric Velocity’: How many metrics do we really use in the team? Which ones really make sense?
- Hands-on exchange of experiences: How do I set up suitable workshop formats with my team to find and introduce new metrics? How can we act co-creatively and collaboratively here?
Exemplary metrics:
- Focus Factor – ratio of productive to available working time
- Pairing Index – degree of joint work in the team
- Sprint Burndown – progress tracking within a sprint
- Days Since Last – time since the last occurrence of a specific event
Special features:
- Many practical exercises and group formats
- Including teaser to the book ‘Agile Metrics’ by Sabine Graupner & Valentin Nowotny for further information and inspiration:
- The seminar is ideal for beginners – and is suitable as a solid foundation for in-depth modules (further in-depth seminars, e.g. on technical metrics or the area of agile scaling, are also offered by P3 if interested)
