Charging Prices in France – Report 10/23

As more and more drivers adopt electric mobility, Avere-France, in collaboration with P3 Group, unveils the first biannual report on public charging prices for electric vehicles. This report provides an in-depth view of pricing trends in the field of public electric charging in France, offering users essential information to understand the evolution of their expenses.

DECIPHERING THE COST OF RECHARGING:

The report takes a detailed look at the costs associated with the public charging of electric vehicles in France. It analyzes price variations according to parameters such as charging power, subscription and driving habits. A typical driver (15,000 km/year) can expect to spend, on average, between €10.48 and €14.73 per month to recharge at public charging stations, depending on whether or not a charging subscription is acquired. A long-distance driver (30,000 km/year) could spend an additional €64 on average.

MARKET TRENDS:

In addition to pricing data, the report highlights emerging trends in the French public charging market. Overall, average charging prices have remained relatively stable, with a slight upward trend over the period of April to August 2023. Alongside the price of energy, other pricing elements (e.g. session start fees, session end fees, blocking fees, etc.) have increased, leading to a slight rise in the final cost of public charging. As a result, it is not only energy prices that have influenced the overall cost of a recharging session, but also the associated ancillary costs.

The Biannual report on the price of public charging is an informative resource for electric vehicle drivers and industry professionals. The next edition will be published in early 2024.
