- Development of vision, mission and key performance indicators within the organization
- Identifying key objectives that are critical and require significant change in order for the organization to achieve its vision

- Annual goal setting that is implemented from the top down through a process called “catch-ball” (The process details how goals are shared through two-way communication)
- Reviewing results on a weekly, monthly and annual basis, using tools such as a sheet chart
- Problem solving by looking at missed targets in step 5 to identify and resolve issues
- Reflection and learning, taking into account continuous growth and improvement
